August is the lazy hazy month of the year. It is the crest of the summer when we have finally relaxed into the summer hotness. Our barbeques have been used over and over again. Our tan is nice and dark and we've gone to the beach or camping at least once. Our thoughts are so far away from winter and that is how August is. Our nights are beautiful and balmy and we stay up late and have outdoor patio parties with our friends. We regret going to bed and missing out on the warmth of the night. The sports fields ring with the bat hitting the ball or the sound of a ball being kicked. Summer is everywhere. Our fields are full of fresh vegetables and the roadside stalls hold the fresh produce. Can anything be better? Nature is full of bounty now. The full moon even has a haze which diffuses the brightness. Canada is full of differences and our summers are significant in this – we have the utter cold of the winter and then the hotness of summer. I wouldn't want it any other way. Enjoy it all. |
